Why Can't I open Email Attachments?
If you are using Outlook Express, the most common reason for not being able to open up attachments is due to a setting within the Outlook Express program.It is a basic security function that prevents ALL attachments from being able to be opened. In versions prior to Outlook Express Version 6, it was never activated by default but is now activated as part of a recent security update from Microsoft.

Implementing the remedy will disable the inbuilt security features within Outlook Express - and viruses disguised as harmless attachments can be opened which may infect your computer.
