How do I setup IMAP in Outlook Express?
The following instructions detail how to create an IMAP account within Outlook Express.- Double-click on Outlook Express icon.
- Single-click on the "Tools" button at the top of the screen.
- Single-click on the word "Accounts . . . "
- Single-click on the word "Mail" at the top of the "Internet Accounts" box.
- Single-click on the "Add" button.
- Single-click on the word "Mail" in the pop-out list to the right of the add button.
- Single-click in the long white box next to "Display name:". Type in the name that you would like the receivers of your e-mails to view in the "From" section of your e-mail. (The name that you would like so that people know that the e-mail is from you) Single-click "Next" button.
- Type in the e-mail address that Internet Tasmania gave to you. Single-click "Next" button.
- Where the computer says "My incoming server is a . . . server" select "IMAP". If "IMAP" is not already in the box, find "IMAP" by single-clicking on down arrow and single-clicking "IMAP" from the list.
- Single-click in the long white box underneath "Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP)server". Type in "mail.intas.net.au".
- Single-click on the long white box underneath "Outgoing mail(SMTP) server:". Type in "mail.intas.net.au" again. Single-click "Next" button.
- Single-click in the long white box next to "Account name:" and type in the account name (user name) that Internet Tasmania provided for you.
- Single-click in the long white box next to "Password:' and type in the password that Internet Tasmania provided for you.
- If you would like to remember your password, single-click in the box next to "Remember password" (NOTE: Do NOT put a tick in the box next to "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)". Single-click "Next" button.
- If you are sure that all the information you have typed in is correct (you can go back and change it if it isn't - by clicking back) single-click the "Finish" button.
